I'm here to help you keep moving & get better every day
I love what I do and who I do it with.
The best part of my job is the relationships I get to have with my patients and their families.
My approach to PT is similar to my approach to coaching. I'm here to guide you, support you, and give you the tools you need to get where you want to go. Welcome to the team!
I became a physical therapist because I'd suffered a shoulder injury during my sophomore year of high school that required surgery and 9 months of PT to fix so I could play high level sports again.
When graduation rolled around and I began considering careers, I thought about becoming an orthopedist or physician of some kind.
Then I remembered that after my surgery, I saw my surgeon for 5-10 minutes at a time, once every 8-12 weeks. I saw my PT 3 times a week for 9 months, for 30-60 minutes at a time.
My PT knew everything about me.
He knew how my math test went and the flavor of ice cream cake we had at my birthday party.
When I was considering careers, I realized I wanted that kind of relationship with my patients, and PT was the only profession that would afford that, while combining my fascination with human anatomy and the healing process.
Now, I'm on the other side of that relationship, and am blessed to know my patients so well and have incredible relationships with them because of the journey that PT takes us on together.
The best part of being a physical therapist is the relationships I get to have with my patients. I knew the only way I could have a long, fulfilling career was to open my own clinic and treat people the way I wanted to treat them. Not as a number or seeing 4 of them at one time.
If you're looking for a healthcare provider who actually cares about you, you're in the right place.
I earned my CSCS and CPT certifications because as much as I enjoy treating injuries as a physical therapist, I'd rather see them not happen in the first place. I LOVE the training side of assigning exercises and movements for people and believe firmly that this is where healthcare should be headed.
I traveled to Cincinatti a year after graduating PT school to go get certified as an ACL injury prevention specialist, and use that training now every summer with our high school girls soccer team.
I'm a HUGE Pixar fan. I could give you any line from Toy Story, and have a signed photo from the animators of Finding Nemo.
I met my husband (a Fairfield native and West Essex grad) on an online dating app!
I fell into coaching high school sports right here in West Caldwell right after I'd graduated PT school. While I was waiting for my license to transfer from Massachusetts (where I went to school) to NJ, I coached JV girls soccer at Mount Saint Dominic Academy, and have been coaching high school sports ever since 2016.
In PT school, we were allowed 1 elective course, and I chose to go back into the cadaver lab because I'd learned SO much from being in there and being able to see the intricacies of human anatomy up close and personally. Ask me about the heart I was able to dissect!
Small group class fitness that's fun, functional, reasonable, and let's you be part of a great community of supportive women
As much as I enjoy treating injuries, I'd rather see them not happen in the first place. This is where training comes in. Work with me on injury prevention, strength, and mobility to stay strong, independent, and confident.
Injuries stink. Rehabilitating them doesn't have to. With Dr. Kelli's method and approach to physical therapy, we will have fun, give you undivided attention, and get you back to (and better!) than you were before.
